Barton Marine take key role in showcasing UK Manufacturing Excellence

New for 2019, the Southampton International Boat Show, powered by Borrow a Boat, will be welcoming visitors into the show with a UK Manufacturer’s Showcase exhibit, highlighting the scope and ability of the British marine industry’s manufacturing sector.

The Barton Marine team will be demonstrating their home grown production expertise across their diverse range of strong, innovative deck equipment, which has been manufactured in the South East since 1948. They will also be challenging show visitors to Beat the Barton Block Clock, a competition to see who is the fastest at putting together the components of a Barton size 3 single block with prizes awarded every day.

The Barton team will be sharing their knowledge everyday from 09.30 to 12 noon in the show entrance marquee, but can also be found on stand J316 alongside UK distributor E.P. Barrus.

Barton will be joined in the Manufacturing Showcase by other well known British manufacturers including RS Dinghies, Topper, English Braids and Dometic UK.

The Manufacturing Showcase concept was conceptualised by Suzanne Blaustone from Barton Marine and taken up by the British Marine team to help support those companies who design and build boating products in the UK.

Suzanne Blaustone CEO Barton Marine says, “Southampton is the ideal place to showcase the manufacturing talent and skill within the UK domestic marine industry. There are so many hardworking, creative manufacturers in the UK of all sizes and we should be making sure everyone is fully aware of this, particularly in the complex economic conditions we find ourselves in.”

The Manufacturing Showcase can be found at the main show entrance and is accessible before the show opens every morning, throughout the boat show.
