British Marine Expo Exhibitor Spotlight: Marlec

Marlec talks to Marine Industry News ahead of the British Marine Expo on the 26th & 27th March where they will be exhibiting to the trade in the Marine Showcase which is supported by the British Marine Trade Association:

What product or service does Marlec offer and where is it available?

Marlec is the UK based manufacturer of the world renowned range of Rutland Windchargers, marine turbines used on board for topping up batteries. We are the UK representative for solar panel manufacturers with ranges in semi-flexible and glass finish. Voltage controllers and hardware accessories to suit are also offered.

What do Marlec’s products do?

Marlec’s renewable energy equipment uses the freely available power in the wind and sun to charge the house and engine batteries. The battery provides a reservoir of the energy which is generated day and night so is available to use as required for lighting, navigation equipment and other on board electrical appliances.

What does this offer your customers?

A key benefit is that the “fuel” is not just free of cost but is environmentally harmless. Added benefits include prolonged battery life as the continuous replenishment avoids, or at least minimises, damaging deep discharge situations. Importantly, the Rutland is the most silent turbine available for installation on board.

Why is this important to people, what benefit does it give them?

Boat owners have long been concerned about the environment as well as costs and using a Rutland turbine combined with solar energy can make up to 100% of the energy requirements of short and long distance cruising.

Are you planning to have any ‘show offers’ at the Expo?

Offers on Marlec wind turbines and solar panels ordered at the show will be displayed on the stand.
