LandroverBAR got it right yesterday

But you have to feel sorry for Nathan Outteridge. One of the best helmsmen in the AC fleet, he steered Artemis right round the bow of ETNZ to lead in Race 3, but the judges reckoned he hadn’t given the Kiwis enough room.

So the judges disqualified Artemis from the race.

Perhaps as a result of this appalling travesty of justice, Artemis yesterday went down to Ben Ainslie and LandroverBAR. But Richard Slater, chief umpire for the 35th America’s Cup, said Iain Percy, who is both team manager and tactician for Artemis had acted like ‘a trued gentleman’.

Mind you, that result really doesn’t bother me at all – anything that gets LandroverBAR up and running for a win gets my applause, so well done guys.

After four defeats on the bounce, a win against Artemis is Very Good News for the Brits. It seems the BAR squad had a bit of a discussion overnight and a few thoughts were expressed.

Whatever was said, it seems to have galvanised BAR and the team took the win over Artemis by 30sec.

Elsewhere, USA Team Oracle showed a clean pair of heels to the French Grouapama team to the tune of 1min 56sec.

Emirates Team New Zealand beat Artemis by 1min 31sec.

The combined scores now show: OracleTeam USA 5 1 1 6; Emirates Team New Zealand 5 1 0 5; LandroverBAR 2 4 2 4; Artemis Racing Sweden 2 5 0 2; SoftBank Team Japan 2 3 0 2; Groupama Team France 2 4 0 2
