Megayacht controls via smartphone

Y On Watch is a new digital application from YYachts that allows owners to monitor their yacht from a distance and make adjustments via their smartphone or smartwatch.

According to YYachts, every function and every device on board – from the refrigerator to the air conditioning – can be operated remotely with Y On Watch. Owners can switch systems on and off and monitor what is happening on board their yacht remotely.

Dirk Zademack, managing partner of YYachts, says: “This system is synonymous with fun, comfort and safety on board. Our hardware and software devices work intelligently together to provide 360-degree monitoring with many great services for YYachts owners.”

According to the developer, Y On Watch’s artificial intelligence also monitors all functions and conditions, so whether on board or not, owners will have a detailed overview of what is going on. If the shore power is disconnected, someone collides with the yacht or even if someone tries to steal it, these updates are documented in real-time and users can receive push notifications.

If a sensor detects anomalies or some technical values fall below a predefined level, Y On Watch can trigger an alarm and send a notification to the user’s smartphone.

A digital logbook is also integrated into Y On Watch, which activates automatically when the yacht leaves the harbour and records the position, miles travelled, and speed in real time.

Y On Watch is the result of combining two, different BUS systems (CZone and NMAEA 2000) with YYachts’ hardware and is connected to YYachts’ AI cloud technology for data analysis.

YYachts founder Michael Schmidt comments: “Since the founding of YYachts, we have had a strong focus on the digitalization of the yard. With Y on Watch, we are once again fulfilling this ambition and offering our customers a very advanced tool.”
