Spinlock expands facility on Isle of Wight

Spinlock has expanded its production facility in Cowes, Isle of Wight, to help facilitate global sales growth and new markets.

The additional 40 per cent space, alongside the existing production facility, allows the increasing factory team to source and hold more component stock, add in-house processes with new machinery and grow the company’s finished product output, says Spinlock.

The growth cycle has been ongoing for over 15 years. This is across both control and project product categories. Spinlock says its range of flotation products are delivering additional business in new and existing sectors and that exports contribute over 85 per cent of sales.

“Spinlock has a strong record for investing across all areas of the business,” says CEO Chris Hill. “This action will help us meet this significant growth in demand from these new markets such as watersports, fishing and commercial marine as well as with new countries.

“We have been searching for additional space for some time and are fortunate to secure this area adjacent to our existing production site. Over the course of the last 12 months, with a steady increase in our production staff and coupled with investment in new machinery and tools which has allowed us to maintain good lead times, improve efficiency and where possible counter rising production costs.”

Spinlock also plans to start work on the redevelopment of the Cowes Police Station site this summer, in order to open a new design, sales and marketing studio, adjacent to the existing headquarters.
