Demos of ‘seeing through’ teak decks at METSTRADE

Launched earlier this year, the PEC Deck from Brookes Bell is non-destructive testing equipment designed to ‘see through’ teak decks in order to determine any issues – such as corrosion – that lie beneath. This means the condition of a deck plate can be determined without having to remove the teak deck, saving thousands of pounds. This also applies to other finished coating, antifouling and insulation layers.

The PEC Deck technology equipment is portable so scans can be fitted around a boat’s movements. Its portability means Brookes Bell will demonstrate the technology during METS, giving superyacht owners, shipyards, skippers, management companies and brokers the opportunity to see the equipment in action, to find out what it can do and how they can plan scans for their vessel in 2020.
