Are you thinking about your career choices and looking for inspiration? The South Devon Marine Academy invite you to join them at their campus at Noss on Dart Marina, Kingswear, in Devon, for a choice of either Marine Technologies or Yacht Operations Foundation Degree taster sessions.
Both free taster sessions will be held on Friday 28 June 2019, attendees will discover how the Foundation Degrees in Marine Technologies or Yacht Operations can prepare you for an exciting career in the marine sector. The Marine Technologies taster session will focus on the Production Management unit as well as other course modules in this innovative and interesting Foundation Degree, including Naval Architecture and Computer Aided Design (CAD).
The Yacht Operations taster session will include an overview of one of the two-year course units like Nautical Safety for Offshore Racing. Weather permitting, attendees will also have the opportunity to get on the water on one of vessels with one of our experienced, professional instructors. There will be the opportunity to ask them questions about the course as well as career guidance.
Based on the banks of the River Dart, the South Devon Marine Academy, part of South Devon College’s campus, is located in Premier Marina’s fully operational marina facility offering students the opportunity to learn on a tidal river in a stunning location with easy access to the open sea.
Adrian Bevin, Head of Automotive & South Devon Marine Academy, comments: “Enrolling onto our Marine Technologies Foundation Degree course is your opportunity to learn how to design a vessel from start to finish and be involved in practical design and construction. You will work with composite and hi-tech materials and develop sought-after industry skills. Our partnership programme provides in-course work experience, projects, mentoring and the option of paid internships. Our Yacht Operations Foundation Degree continues to receive excellent feedback from the industry with 100% of students either continuing their studies after successful completion or going on to work in a range of careers including superyachts, offshore racing and small commercial vessel operations.
