Lowrance proud to support the World Predator Classic

Lowrance®, a world-leader in fishing electronics since 1957 — today announced their continued sponsorship of The World Predator Classic (WPC). Now entering its 5th year the WPC event has quickly become a prestigious and highly contested competition on the sports fishing calendar. This year’s event will return to the picturesque town of Hellevoetsluis in The Netherlands, taking place from the 11th – 16th June. Zander, Pike and Perch are the target species, with a huge prize purse in excess of £70,000 on offer.

The WPC is now one of the largest predator fishing events globally with Boat and Streetfishing categories, and Lowrance are proud to be sponsoring this event for the third year running. As well as being sponsors, Lowrance are excited to be entering a team into the boat competition again this year. After last year’s success from Team Lowrance Europe, this year’s new recruits have a lot to live up to. The 2018 team includes; Ulf Stuermer, Robin Grompe, Tom Heyer & Christian Wienecke who have many years of sports fishing experience between them. Team Lowrance will be fishing from 2 fully branded boats for the 2018 event. The boats are fully equipped with the most up-to-date products from Lowrance, including the tournament grade HDS Carbon range.

Lowrance offer a range of products and features dedicated to professional anglers to help them elevate their performance in the diverse conditions that they may face in an unfamiliar tournament setting, such as the WPC. In March 2018, Lowrance released a major software update for HDS Carbon™, HDS Gen3 and Elite-Ti, which included some exciting new features to help give competitors using Lowrance products in a tournament environment a real edge. Part of this software release was the new FishReveal™ sonar feature, FishReveal is a massive leap forward in fish finding technology that allows anglers to quickly and easily discover how fish orient themselves in and around cover and structure, with clearly defined fish arches.

Lowrance will also be hosting a VIP evening on Thursday 14th June. The VIP event will include a raffle with lots of great prizes up for grabs, including the new FishHunter3D, with this product anglers fishing from the bank, dock or pier will know where to cast every time, getting 3D views from a wireless, castable transducer. Other items in the raffel include a 5-inch Hook2 fishfinder, along with numerous Lowrance goody bags; it’s set to be a fantastic evening.

With the final preparation in place, all the competitors are now raring to go with the championship title in their sights.
