The award-winning Marine Advertising Agency (MAA) is a leading provider of specialist marketing services to the marine industry. With offices in Haslar Marina (Gosport), MAA works with market leading marine companies on their PR, design, social media, digital and exhibition requirements.

They are looking for a passionate and hardworking communications professional to join their busy agency team. The job is full time although part time hours may be considered, and salary is commensurate with experience.

Key responsibilities

Developing and implementing PR and social media strategies

Planning, implementing and reporting on social media promotional campaigns using various platforms, including Facebook Ad Manager

Building relationships with the media and with MAA clients

Writing and sending press releases, including follow-up with media to generate publicity for clients

Writing engaging and effective social media posts

Writing advertorials for clients as needed

Monitoring media coverage and creating coverage reports

Overseeing content production (adverts, videos, social media and online PR initiatives)

Proofing client marketing materials

Arranging press calls and events

Overseeing market research

Manage external content producers; provide content ideas, direct content

Managing the creation of email newsletters

Ensure continuity across all client marketing activities where relevant

Develop and implement advertising schedules

Reporting on and analysing advertising campaigns (across social media, digital and print)

Presenting to clients and at industry events

Liaising with clients and coordinating all marketing activity/campaigns

Supporting clients at events, arranging relevant meetings where needed


Skills and Experience

Proven success with social campaigns and PR management

Knowledge and experience of standard monitoring and reporting tools for social media and PR

Experience of marketing and content creation

IT literate, particular fluency when using social media platforms

Excellent, accurate, written English

Quick to absorb and analyse large amounts of information

Able to present ideas with conviction

Good with figures and commercially aware

Skilled at negotiating with and motivating others

Experience of social media scheduling platforms

Familiarity with advertising media

Creative thinking when it comes to repurposing content

Approachable, outgoing and diplomatic

Proactive and with the ability to cope with pressure

A clear communicator, in person and writing

Comfortable working as part of a team

Highly organised and flexible

Confident, smart appearance and a self-starter with a friendly, can-do approach

Experience in marketing on both client and agency side would be highly desirable
