MDL Marinas to host four boat shows in 2021

MDL Marinas is demonstrating its confidence in the power of regional marine shows by announcing four boat shows for 2021.

The South Coast Boat Show (7-9 May 2021) and Ocean Village Boat Show (10-19 September 2021) will both be held in Southampton at MDL’s flagship Ocean Village Marina.

Following the success of the first Thames Valley Boat Show in 2019, the show will be returning to MDL’s Penton Hook Marina in Surrey on 9-11 April 2021.

Brand new to the MDL boat show line up in 2021 is the Green Tech Boat Show, to be held at Queen Anne’s Battery, Plymouth, 19-20 June 2021.

“The enthusiasm and feedback from past regional boat shows, and the positive response to the planned events, indicates an appetite from both exhibitors and visitors for smaller, more buyer focused events,” says Tim Mayer, MDL’s sales and marketing director.

“With the locations and facilities of our marinas, we’re ideally situated to offer these shows to the marine industry and the boating public.”

Events at Ocean Village

The South Coast Boat Show (7-9 May 2021) and Ocean Village Boat Show (10-19 September 2021) are set to return to Southampton.

With the city’s excellent transport links and Ocean Village Marina’s state-of-the-art marina facilities, it’s an ideal venue for a boat show, complemented by the numerous restaurants and bars providing hospitality for visitors and exhibitors alike.

Guided by Raymarine, the South Coast Boat Show features the marine industry’s most exciting and innovative global power and sail brands. A must for serious buyers, exhibitors already confirmed include: Jeanneau, Fountaine Pajot catamarans, Halberg Rassy and Grand Inflatable Boats.

Undeterred by the disappointment of its last minute cancellation this year, the Ocean Village Boat Show will showcase an extensive line up of motorboats, RIBs and sailing yachts, featuring something for anyone looking to purchase a brand-new vessel ready for the 2022 season.

Thames Valley Boat Show

The Thames Valley Boat Show (9-11 April 2021) at Penton Hook Marina will be sponsored by award winning TBS Boats, the event will present over 20 new boats brands including Sealine, Jeanneau power, Fairline, Cranchi, Glastron and Orkney Day Boats.

The Green Tech Boat Show

Brand new to the MDL boat show line up in 2021 is the Green Tech Boat Show. The first boat show of its kind in the UK, the inaugural display of the marine industry’s green technologies will take place on 19-20 June 2021 at MDL’s Queen Anne’s Battery, Plymouth.

“Through our new Green Tech Boat Show we want to bring together the marine community’s innovators and change-makers, who are working towards a greener future for boating, and present their products on a public stage,” explains Mayer.

“This show is specifically for boat owners wishing to make the switch to greener options, and prospective owners who’d like to start their boating journey in the most environmentally friendly way possible.

“With 70 landside stands and 30 on water berths available, this strong platform will allow the marine industry to demonstrate how it can contribute to combatting climate change, while still enabling people to enjoy time out on the water and the benefits that brings.”

Dealers from across the different regions will be on hand at all events, ready to offer expert knowledge on products, as well as guidance throughout the process of buying a new boat, whether it’s a first, second or third purchase.

At all four shows, boat viewings will be by pre-booked appointments only. For land-based exhibits, tickets will be available in advance.

MDL says it is working closely with the relevant local authorities to ensure that the events will be Covid-secure and in line with the appropriate government guidelines.
