MDL Marinas to host new Sept boat show at Ocean Village Marina

MDL Marinas will be hosting a boat show at Ocean Village Marina this September. It’ll take place on 11th – 20th September 2020.

The company is currently considering options and more details are expected to be announced next week.  But MDL’s no stranger to hosting boat shows with the South Coast Boat Show, and Thames Valley and Penton Hook, being two of its striking successes.

MIN understands that MDL’s current plans centre around an ‘invite-only’ show to support brokers and obviously cater for an industry hungry for a September event to take place.

“We’re using Ocean Village Marina,” says Tim Mayer, MDL’s Sales and Marketing Director, “because it’s the most stunning marina on the South Coast. Plus, it has deep water access, excellent transport links, and a five-star hotel on site.

“We’ve spent the last few months watching the industry go back and forth on whether to host an exhibition, whether anyone can make one happen in the time frame, with the Covid-19 restrictions in place.

“But we’re best placed to do this, given our terrific marina facilities, and the fact we’ve done it before very successfully with the South Coast Boat Show. We don’t need to build anything new and as such can offer very competitive rates for exhibitors.

“We can manage visitor numbers and access points, and provide all the additional exhibiting guidance that brokers might need to ensure their guests are secure too. And given the reports we’re hearing about excellent sales this summer, the industry has an appetite to get new boats on show.

“Covid has changed the way we all think about our spare time and holidays, so we see this as the ideal opportunity to leverage sales for the wider market.”

As discussions continue, MDL welcomes contact from businesses who want to capitalise on a summer of great boating and book their space on their pontoon, via email.
