Ocean SOLAS throw-over liferaft – new variant

Introducing

Ocean Safety is a specialist in the worldwide supply, distribution, service and hire of marine safety equipment. Using years of experience in designing liferafts, Ocean Safety has developed a new variant of its Ocean Solas throw-over liferaft.

Overview

Ocean Safety now offers the Ocean SOLAS throw-over liferaft in a new cylindrical GRP container. This new variant complements the liferaft’s existing container options and extends Ocean Safety’s range of lifesaving equipment for the commercial marine sector.

Universally sized, this new option has been specifically designed to fit into the existing cradles and mountings onboard many commercial vessels. Without needing to upgrade or replace their onboard stowage, ferries, crew transfer vessels, tugs and superyachts now have the option to be equipped with the Ocean SOLAS throw-over liferafts.

Performance Data

Built to the more advanced buoyancy of 82.5kg per person, the Ocean SOLAS throw-over liferaft has a dual tube inflation system to meet the MSC.295(87) regulations, ensuring that one buoyancy tube can support the liferaft when at capacity.

The Ocean SOLAS throw-over liferaft’s large water ballast pockets offer maximum stability and resistance in extreme conditions, protecting occupants from strong winds and rough seas.

An inflatable boarding ramp aids access to the Ocean SOLAS throw-over liferaft and, once onboard, the floor is insulated to retain heat, while the retro-reflective tape on the canopy increases visibility to promote rescue.
