Racegeek wins international award

Irish start-up Racegeek has picked up the prestigious Pittman Innovation Award in the racing category for their d10 sailing instrument. In making the award the judging panel highlighted the d10s combination of outstanding display, connectivity, unique features specifically designed for the sports boat sailor and a range of other features more commonly found in more expensive systems.

Distributed by Eurotask Ltd in the UK and the US, the racegeek d10 takes a new look at sailing systems for smaller race boats and performance cruising boats combining everything needed in a single ‘internet of things’ device. Data sharing and analytic features create a platform that helps competitors improve their performance.

Racegeek co-founder Ric Morris said: “We’re delighted Sail Magazine chose the d10 for a Pittman. There are a lot of quality products and well respected manufacturers on this year’s list. It was totally unexpected. Getting an award is a real boost.”

Fellow co-founder JC Durbin added: “The judging panel for the Pittman know their stuff. Being picked for an award is a real honour.”

The d10 can be seen on the brand new RS Team 21 sports boat at the Dusseldorf Boat Show.
