SIMRAD to show their latest products at Southampton Boat Show 2019

Simrad, a leader in the design and manufacture of world-class marine navigation, autopilot, radar, communications and fishfinding systems are pleased to be exhibiting their latest innovations at this year’s Southampton Boat Show. A number of product experts will be on hand in the Ocean Hall, stand number J372 to offer advice and support as well as some exclusive boat show promotions.

There will be a vast range of Simrad electronics from across the range on display, including Simrad Cruise, a new entry level chartplotter, perfect for those looking for a simple display for navigation. Visitors will also be able to see the new RS40B, the first VHF radio with the capability to send and receive AIS position data.

Designed for straightforward navigation, Cruise features a simple, easy-to-use interface, sunlight-viewable display, mounting bracket and sonar transducer.

Taking ease of use to a new level, Simrad Cruise combines essential GPS features with basic depth-finding capability to deliver safe and reliable navigation at an affordable price. Free from complicated fishing-specific sonar and networking features, Cruise eliminates the need for boaters to master complex electronics.

The AIS transceiver built into the RS40-B can receive position data from other vessels like the original RS40, but it is also capable of sharing its position with nearby AIS-equipped vessels, improving situational awareness and collision avoidance. Position data is clearly viewable on the RS40-B screen and can even be overlaid on top of a chart or radar through a compatible chartplotter. Share location details and keep track of up to five friends using Track Buddy, which requests the location of another VHF radio when the MMSI is entered into the VHF contact list.

All Simrad products are compatible with C-MAP charts, visit the stand to see the latest improvements including new port plans, improved visibility at higher zoom levels, high-resolution Bathymetry and Genesis layer overlay.

Simrad are also excited to announce that Dawn Ramsay, UK Country Manager and acting COO for Europe, will be a key speaker at the Women in Marine Reception, an event created to inspire young people and offer advice to those wishing to pursue a career in the industry. Dawn has over 35 years of experience and service in marine, awarded the Woman in the British Marine Industry 2018 at the MTA dinner in March, Dawn will be sharing an insight into her career from where she began at Autohelm on the assembly line to where she is today.
