Sir Alec Rose’s Lively Lady moves to Hayling Island for restoration

ALL MEDIA INVITED!!!

Sir Alec Rose’s iconic yacht Lively Lady will be moved to Hayling Island for the start of a seven-month restoration programme – Thursday 21st September.

The historic sailing boat, built in 1948, will be taken from Camber Dock in Portsmouth to the Hayling Yacht Company on Hayling Island, which is overseeing the work to return the yacht to her former glory in time for the 50th anniversary of Sir Alec arriving back in Portsmouth from his solo circumnavigation.

The boat will be moved by Dave Baker, under the watchful eye of Steve Mason who, along with ocean racing legend Alan Priddy, sailed the yacht around the world in 2006-08 with a group of young people from Portsmouth.

Mr Mason will be joined by local entrepreneur and incoming Chairman of the Around and Around charity Mark Smith.
