The Cruising Association welcomes The Princess Royal

In his capacity as Patron of The Cruising Association (CA), Sir Robin Knox-Johnston CBE RD and bar, yesterday hosted a private visit from The Princess Royal to the CA’s headquarters in Limehouse Basin, London.

Sir Robin, accompanied by the CA President Mr Julian Dussek and immediate past-President Mrs Judith Grimwade, was delighted to welcome The Princess Royal to CA House as part of the Association’s 110th anniversary celebrations.

The schedule included an opportunity to browse the CA’s impressive collection of sailing memorabilia, books and charts, and the Princess enjoyed a demonstration of the CA’s unique mobile App, CAptain’s Mate, that, amongst other clever features, puts thousands of global cruising reports at your fingertips.

The royal visit was rounded off with an opportunity for The Princess Royal to be introduced to a number of the volunteers who help to run the Association and look after its many and varied membership-led interests.
