Ventura News – Jersey’s new Ferretti agent

At the recent Jersey Boat Show, Seapower Marine was appointed as Channel Islands agent for Ferretti Yachts by Ferretti Yachts’ UK dealer, Ventura.

Seapower Marine is a highly-regarded and well-established marine engineering and boat sales company based in St Helier.

Ventura took the decision to appoint Seapower following unexpectedly high levels of interest in the Ferretti Yachts 450 when it was displayed at this year’s Jersey Boat Show – the first time a Ferretti has been exhibited at the show.

Michael Newton-Woof, Head of Ventura UK, said he was both surprised and delighted with how well the boat was received: “We weren’t sure quite what to expect to be honest,” he said. “Before the show, we didn’t know a great deal about the kind of boating Channel Islanders enjoy, or whether Ferretti would appeal to them. But the Ferretti Yachts 450 was en route to the UK from the factory in Italy, so we thought why not take a detour to the Jersey show and see how it goes. The level of interest was beyond all our expectations.”

It soon became clear that the Ferretti Yachts 450 is exactly what many Channel Islanders are looking for. 40-50ft is the ideal size in the Channel Islands, able to cope comfortably with the sea conditions and also to fit easily into the marinas.

“Owners of 40ft sports cruisers were very interested in the Ferretti Yachts 450,” said Newton-Woof. “There are clearly quite a few people who own boats that sort of size here in Jersey, and for those who are looking to move up to something with a little more comfort and more protection from the elements, the 45ft Ferretti Yachts 450 fits the bill perfectly.

“We are delighted to have appointed Seapower as agent for Ferretti Yachts sales and service here in the Channel islands,” said Newton-Woof. “With their knowledge, expertise and experience, I know for certain that they are very capable of providing the exceptional level of service that Ferretti Yachts owners always demand and expect.”

On Tuesday 7 May, the day after the Jersey Boat Show ended, the Ferretti Yachts 450 left St Helier marina at 10:00am and arrived in Poole under four hours later – an average speed of over 25 knots.

A video of the trip will be published shortly on the website of the British motor boating magazine ‘Motor Boat & Yachting‘.
