Yacht shipping experts Peters & May extend support for 2019 Angling Spirit events

Global bespoke logistics experts, Peters & May, are pleased to announce the extension of their sponsorship of the World Predator Classic and World Carp Classic angling events for 2019. After a successful first year of sponsorship, yacht shipping experts Peters & May continue in their commitment to extend bespoke logistics services across the angling industry.

Last year, Peters & May began their sponsorship of the World Predator Classic event, hosted in Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands. As a popular predatory angling competition, the event attracts 50 teams each year to participate. This year will mark the 6th year that competitors take to the 11,663-hectare stretch of water between 24th – 29th June. Winning stakes are high, with the chance to earn places in the Angling Super Cup. Victors will also enjoy a trip to the US to attend the biggest angling trade show worldwide, ICAST, as well as the prize fishing boat which Peters & May will transport from the US ahead of the event. New for 2019, is the entry of 6 Peters & May teams; on board the Peters & May fishing vessels will be familiar faces including CEO David Holley, who is a keen fisherman himself.

In addition to the sponsorship of the World Predator Classic, Peters & May will support the World Carp Classic for the first time. Held in Lac de Madine, France, during September, it is the world largest carp fishing competition bring in competitors from across the globe. At the centre of each of these events, is the desire to promote environment responsibility. All fishing for the competitions is carried out in a sustainable way using the catch, photo and release method to record the size. Competitors are also limited to a maximum catch, for example those competing in the World Predator Classic are only permitted to capture, 3 Zander, 3 Perch and 1 Pike per day. Alongside the ethos of sustainable fishing, is the strong focus on education, promoting sustainable living for the next generation through schools close to the host towns.

As the official global partner to Angling Spirit, Peters & May are well positioned to supply logistics support for angling events as well as competitors. With a strong global reputation as experts in the marine industry, Peters & May can offer yacht shipping and freight forwarding services across the world. Ross Honey, Founder of Angling Spirit explains: “It’s really great to be building on the success achieved in the first year of the sponsorship agreement with Peters & May. The angling world is vast and there is a huge number of products being moved all over the world at any one time. Peters & May have a world class reputation in the marine industry, and we are very pleased to be working with them as they extend their services to angling companies. We know that the World Predator Classic Champions prize boat that comes from Basspro in the USA will arrive on time and in pristine condition ready for its presentation to the worthy winners.”

As events draw closer, Peters & May CEO David Holley comments on his enthusiasm for the upcoming competition: “The World Predator Classic and World Carp Classic are fantastic. As a passionate angler myself, I am thrilled to be joining in with the competition this year – I best get practising! Once off the water, I look forward to meeting other competitors and keen anglers to explain how Peters & May can assist with their worldwide logistics requirements.”
