Tecsew welcomes UTC Portsmouth guests

Tecsew welcomed work experience students from UTC Portsmouth last week.

The South Coast based boat cover business has been impressed by Year 12 students Patricia, Alec and Joe, due to their ability to pick up new tasks and software quickly and efficiently.

Directors John & Ally Bland said: “It has been fantastic having Patricia, Alec and Joe with the company. These students are credits to UTC Portsmouth and have embraced the challenges we gave them. It has been a real pleasure to have such vibrant, high calibre students in with us and we wish them all the luck in the future.”

Patricia, Alec and Joe spoke of their time at Tecsew: “We’ve really enjoyed our placements as we have constantly had jobs to do whilst observing how a small business operates. It has given us a chance to look at the marine textile industry design process; how it is applied in real life and not just as a model, and the manufacturing process that follows. It has also been rewarding to see parts of a role that you do not normally witness frequently and it has given us the confidence to look into enterprise and business and pursue our design interests.”
