Novice sailors cross Atlantic to escape COVID-19

Like other stories MIN’s reported of novice sailors learning the ropes as they try to get home (the rookie Dutch sailors from Australia and students sailing the Atlantic) when COVID-19 reached Antigua, Lee Brook could not get a flight.

So he joined the novice crew of a UK-bound racing yacht, who learned how to sail as they crossed the Atlantic, according to the BBC.

Undeterred by the fact the boat’s built for racing, not comfort, and after being told ‘it won’t be easy’, Brook says the experience has “created a sailing monster out of me.”
