Fantastic footage of great white sharks circling surfers

Two great white sharks were spotted recently circling surfers off the beach at Tuncurry in New South Wales, Australia.

The surfers were alerted to the potential threat by a drone pilot who was filming overhead. The warning caused a mass exodus of surfers from the water and the beach.

Speaking to Today (Australian breakfast television programme), a group of surfers present when the incident occurred explained how the drone pilot came to wave them out of the water yelling out “there’s two whites behind you.” The paddle out the water that followed was “kinda quick” and more of a “walk on water”.

Having seen the drone footage, one of the surfers commented that he “found it quite reassuring that they were not interested in us, they were just swimming past and happened to run into us.”

The surfers, unperturbed by the event, were back in the water at Tuncurry beach shortly afterwards.
