The incident occurred at Calshot Spit.

The two people escaped with minor injuries.

Solent Coastguard, Hamble lifeboat and emergency crews attended the scene.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service Control posted on Twitter: “Well it’s not everyday you get a call to a light aircraft coming down into the sea near Calshot! Fortunately only minor injuries to those onboard rescued by Coastguard.”
