VIDEO: Brazilian tall ship collides with bridge

Brazilian navy training ship, Cisne Branco, has collided with a pedestrian bridge on the Guayas River in Brazil.

According to Salvage and Wreck, which posted the video on social media, the Brazilian ship Cisne Branco, was visiting Guayaquil for several days but collided with the bascule bridge on Guayas River, around 1:30 pm October 18, 2021.

With the help of a tug, the tall ship managed to get out of the incident, however, its weight and size caused the smaller ship to turn over.

The National Maritime Authority of Equador has activated emergency protocols following the incident with the Brazilian navy training ship.

According to local reports, none of the crew members of both ships were injured. The reasons for the incident are still to be assessed, but most likely it is associated with a strong current of the river.
