Royston opens marine electrical department

In order to expand ship maintenance operations and boost customer service, Royston has invested in a new marine electrical department.

Headed by electrical service manager Ben Jones, Royston says the move will see a wide-range of dedicated electrical, electronic, digital repair and overhaul services available to global marine fleet owners and operators.

Engineers will cover breakdowns and provide fault-finding capabilities as well as undertaking routine and scheduled repairs and service work, regardless of a vessel’s global location.

The department’s services will also include function testing of alarms, engine automation, control and monitoring equipment alongside repair and fault diagnosis of marine equipment and more.

Royston’s technical director Neil Graham says there is huge demand for skilled and independent marine engineering and propulsion services as sector operators continue to recover from the pandemic and invest in their vessel maintenance and service operations.

“The new marine electrical department positions us strongly for further expansion and success,” says Graham, “as we look to provide customers with the competitive, highly responsive engineering services and skilled expertise they need to support their own frontline services and vessel capabilities.”
