Miami’s Formula 1 ‘fake marina’ mocked as Monaco rip off

A fake marina, which is being constructed ahead of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami in May, is raising eyebrows from the yachting sector and F1 fans alike.

Organisers have released a rendered video, which shows the F1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix Campus complete with grandstands around the circuit and a man-made marina and ‘MSC Cruises Yacht Club’.

According to Autosport.com, the marina will be positioned on the infield of the long left-handers of turns 6-8 of the 5.4 kilometre track.

Fans have taken to Twitter ridiculing the man-made marina and labelling it a knock-off version of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit marina but tickets to the inaugural Miami F1 race sold out in 40 minutes.

A beach will also be created at the circuit by the Hard Rock Club, which itself features resort-style pools and bars.

The organizers could have saved money and had a race at a venue and with racing machines that shout Miami and South Florida. Get the Miami Marine Stadium crankin’ again and race boats!

  2. Name says:

they have a river right next to the track, just build an actual marina there and bridge the main straight over its entrance
