ADPR’s epic 58km Jurassic walking challenge raises over £3,500 for MIND

Marine and outdoor communications agency, ADPR, announces it has raised a whopping £3,556 for MIND – the mental health charity – following the team’s successful completion of one of the UK’s toughest walks, the Jurassic Coast Challenge.

On 8 June 2019, the ADPR team walked 58km (36miles) and climbed an ascent of 1,650m (5,413ft) across the spectacular Jurassic coast, England’s only natural world heritage site. Starting off at Poole Harbour, the seven-strong team completed the challenge in a single day, walking across famous landmarks including Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door all the way to the finishing point in Weymouth.

Commenting on the challenge, ADPR’s Managing Director, Kate O’Sullivan, says, “Six months ago, we decided we were in need of a challenge. A charity walk seemed like a reasonably sensible solution. After all, it’s ‘just a walk’, how hard can it be?! Well, it turns out that walking 36 hilly miles in one day is no mean feat. 14 solid hours of walking certainly granted us our wish of being mentally and physically tested, with some impressive looking blisters thrown in for good measure. But nothing can beat the sense of achievement and relief we felt when crossing the finish line. In spite of the tiredness, aches and pains we smashed our fundraising target, had a lot of fun along the way and raised over £3,500 for MIND – a charity we are all passionate about supporting. I am incredibly proud of the ADPR team, we’ve proven that adventure really is in our DNA!”
