Barrus joined by Sam Thorpe

Sam Thorpe has joined Barrus as Dealer Auditor and Boat Technical Support for the company’s marine leisure division.

Since completing a Marine Engineering course at Plymouth University, Sam has progressed through technical roles in the marine industry at a mix of dealers and boat builders, most recently as engineering manager for RIB-X working with Mercury and Yanmar engines.

Sam will be working closely with the authorised network of Mariner and Mercury outboard engines, and Quicksilver Boats dealers, and will ensure the dealerships have the full support they require from Barrus.

“Having always worked closely with Barrus, I have attended a number of training courses and already have an interest in the products,” says Sam.

In his spare time Sam likes to be out on the water as much as possible with his own, Mercury powered, boat. However, his keen interest in engineering extends to land, too as he is currently re-building a Land Rover.
