Bjorn Ingemanson appointed as Swedish GMBA consultant

Global Marine Business Advisors (GMBA) has appointed Bjorn Ingemanson as its Sweden-based consultant. Ingemanson brings a wealth of corporate experience, having worked for the Volvo group of companies for over 35 years.

Ingemanson as president and CEO of AB Volvo Penta, Gothenburg, from 2012-2020 managed a turnover of 13.3 billion SEK. In this position, Ingemanson increased operating margins significantly and took Volvo Penta from a business mainly selling marine leisure engines to a company consisting of two equally large segments, Industrial and Marine. Volvo Penta now has operations in around 140 countries with above 50% market share in marine leisure engines.

The appointment of Ingemanson has increased the global footprint of GMBA, offering direct knowledge of the Swedish marine market, plus greater expertise and skills across the high level global corporate marine environment.

“I am excited to join GMBA and utilise the knowledge and expertise I have developed over so many years to assist those companies wishing to enter or expand their global markets,” says Ingemanson. “This is never an easy task, but when you have the networks we have developed, it certainly can cut through the mire to get outcomes a lot more quickly and cost effectively.”

Global Marine Business Advisors is a group of marine industry experts, located on five continents and fifteen countries. The group is focused on providing a broad range of support services for businesses in the global marine sector.
