Boat Central offers free listings to marine businesses

To support the marine industry, Boat Central is offering free listings to marine businesses. The company connects boat owners with marine trades, services, moorings, and boat brokers.

“The level of enquiries from site visitors who are new to boating is also at an all-time high,” says Iain Bonneywell, CEO of Boat Central, “with many customers recognising that leisure boating could be their safest and best option for outdoors recreation.

“Throughout May, the level of searches for products and general chandlery also increased; a strong indication that DIY boaters are preparing for the late start to the season.

“It’s reassuring to see these uplifts and gives me great confidence that the leisure boating industry will continue to be supported. With 1000s of searches every week, boat owners are demonstrating that leisure boating is high on their priority list.”

Boat Central has seen a 350% uplift in the number of boat owners searching online for marine trades, services, moorings, and boat brokers.

With many businesses temporarily closing or working remotely, early adaptations were necessary to ensure boat owners could still locate and contact businesses who were able to engage with them.

The Boat Central team developed new ways of working which allows it to check that a business has the availability to handle the request and importantly, the boat owner can find what they need.

June has already seen a further increase in the number of boat owners searching for trades, services or products on Boat Central and looks set to continue throughout the season as more boaters are eager to return to the water.
