Cruising Association enjoys all-round success at SIBS

The Southampton International Boat Show was a success for the Cruising Association (CA), both in terms of adding extra value for existing members visiting the show and for attracting new members to join the CA community.

The CA signed up 135 new members and a steady stream of membership applications continues to arrive via its website. As an additional incentive for joining during the show, Navionics generously supplied one free Navionics App per day in a special daily draw.

112 copies of the 2020 Cruising Almanac were sold off the stand and sales are up 55% in the last three years.

The CA stand welcomed visitors to stop and chat, enjoy an informative video about the benefits of CA membership, as well as to try out the new features on CA’s app, CAptain’s Mate.

Halfway through the show, the winning ticket in its Ocean Safety Big Prize Draw, which attracted a record 835 entries, was drawn, and the next Big Prize Draw with Fairview Sailing for a seven-day yacht charter for eight people valued at £2,500, was formally launched.
