Doyle Sails announce new owner operators

British Marine member, Doyle Sails UK, recently announced that it is now to be headed up by Tom and Philippa Milne, who are the new owner operators of the world class Doyle Sails loft facility based at Universal Marina on the Hamble River.

Doyle Sails New Zealand, owned and managed by Mike Sanderson, Richard Bouzaid and David Duff, are also part owners and fully involved in the running of the UK business, which they have identified has a huge growth potential.

Tom and Philippa Milne have sailed, raced and lived aboard a wide range of yachts from childhood and through their working lives they have been immersed in a broad spread of marine businesses. The business already has a highly experienced and well-respected sail making team and, all together, they pride themselves on providing the best possible service for the full range of new Doyle sails and service work.

Tom Milne, new Owner/General Manager of Doyle Sails UK, added his thoughts: “Our UK loft is a new purpose-built facility. The raised loft floor is about the size of four tennis courts which provides the capacity for work on larger sails or taking on time-dependent projects without interfering with our planned production and sail servicing.

“Our team will work very closely with the partner loft in New Zealand, suppliers of award winning Stratis and Delta sail membranes. The UK loft and our customers can also draw upon the expertise and service support from our lofts around the world.”

With the UK racing and cruising market being so significant, with over 35,000 boats based in the Solent and many more based in other fantastic sailing waters on the East and West coasts and throughout Scotland, Doyle offers a range of products to suit the variety of needs – whether racing or cruising, large or small.
