Dredging operations in Cowes Harbour Inner Fairway

LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS No. 13(T) of 2019

Notice is hereby given that dredging operations will commence in the Cowes Harbour Inner Fairway. The dredging area is adjacent to Shepards Marina, south of No. 6 buoy and north of Trinity Wharf.

Dredging will commence after the departure of the 01:30 Red Funnel vehicle ferry on Wednesday 1st May 2019 and is due to be completed before the arrival of the 03:50 Red Funnel vehicle ferry on the same day.

These operations will be carried out by the dredge barge Doreen Dorward and hopper barge Needles.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity of the dredge area shall do so with particular caution and maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 69 for broadcasts communicating their movements.

This notice will be self-cancelling on 2nd May 2019.

It should be noted that Local Notice to Mariners are issued as guidance by Cowes Harbour Commission to aid safe navigation for all Harbour users. Whilst they cannot be legally enforced, by not complying with the advice you may be placing yourself, your crew or other harbour users at risk.
