Join Prolific’s Big Virtual Voyage
Sailing charity, Ocean Youth Trust South, is running its Big Virtual Voyage this week to raise funds to support its work with young people.
Usually at this time of year, the organisation would be welcoming young people onboard its vessel Prolific for a life changing on water adventure but, with trips being delayed due to the pandemic, the team has looked at alternative ways to get Prolific ‘sailing’ again.
The virtual voyage involves people being sponsored for walking, running, rowing, cycling and stepping. Each day the total mileage accrued by everyone participating is added up and where the virtual Prolific might head is decided. So far this week, with more than 1,200 miles pledged, Prolific has ‘travelled’ all the way from Southampton to Visby, Gotland (Sweden), raising £3,837.
