Marine Resources launches ‘future talent’ campaign

British recruitment consultancy Marine Resources says it’s now concentrating a large proportion of its marketing efforts, resources and investments on young professionals, aged 13 to 35, in what it’s terming a ‘future talent’ campaign.

The campaign is aimed at nurturing and supporting future talent within the sector to help address the challenges posed by an ageing demographic, skills shortages, and rapid technological advancements.

The campaign is built on four main pillars: attract, train, retain, and thrive. It seeks to collect insights and data while educating and influencing the industry on the unique needs of young people and professionals, particularly millennials and Gen Z, as vital contributors to the industry’s success.

“The goal is to future-proof marine businesses by being at the forefront of raising awareness about our industry’s exciting opportunities,” says James Ward, CEO and founder of Marine Resources.

The company has already started to develop the strategy with its sponsorship of the Superyacht UK Young Designer competition at the Southampton International Boat Show 2023. Eight design students from universities across the country were tasked with producing a General Arrangement (GA) sketch. That was based on a brief created by a judging panel of industry experts.

“This competition has put a spotlight on superyacht design as a career choice like no other,” says Ward. “With the chance to network with some of the most famous superyacht designers in the world and receive fully funded internships at their incredible studios, this competition is totally unique. We are thrilled to have been able to support this fantastic competition as part of our 20-year anniversary celebrations and investment back into the industry as part of our ‘future talent’ campaign.”
