Superyacht UK Young Designer Competition 2019 kicks off

2019’s Superyacht UK Young Designer Competition, sponsored by Marine Resources, kicked off yetserday. This year, the Competition is taking place at the prestigious Superyacht Design Forum in Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour. The theme for the 10 university students competing is to design a superyacht to be featured in the next James Bond film. There is also a specific ask this year that the students include features on board which demonstrate the minimising of environmental impact.

The judges, including Justin Oslenski of Oslenski, Jeff Houlgrave, Chairman of Superyacht UK, Stephen Hills of Pendennis Shipyard and James Ward of Marine Resources, have been impressed with the designs so far, and will be choosing the winner and runner up at the end of day two (today). The winner will secure themselves a four-week internship at Pendennis Shipyard and the runner up will secure themselves a two-week internship at Olesinski.
