Ocean Safety to distribute new range of AquaSpec LED marine safety lights

Ocean Safety is to distribute a new range of high performing LED lights from Aquaspec, the makers of the smallest lifejacket light in the world.

AquaSpec has recently extended its product range to include powerful and efficient LED lifejacket, liferaft, lifebuoy and signal lights. AquaSpec products are distributed exclusively by Ocean Safety, specialists in the worldwide supply, distribution, service and hire of marine safety equipment.

Since its inception nearly 25 years ago, AquaSpec has produced some of the most innovative and technologically advanced SOLAS marine safety lights in the world. The company continues its tradition of producing high quality products at competitive prices with this new product range: AQ8A Lifejacket Light, AQLRL Liferaft Light, AQLBL Lithium Lifebuoy Light, AQLBA Alkaline Lifebuoy Light and AQFLA Morse Signal Torch.

All products hold the necessary approvals, including MED certification, ISO24408, SOLAS and IMO Res MSC 81(70). They all have a five-year shelf-life and share common characteristics including powerful and efficient white LED light, automatic water activation (where relevant) and manual on/off switch. The lights’ designs are compact, functional and simple, and easy to attach and fit. The lights are tamper proof with a maintenance-free five-year battery life.

“The extension of the Aquaspec range further complements its unique marine safety light offering. As the Aquaspec exclusive global distributor, we are excited about the opportunity the new products present to the market,” says Mark Acaster, Ocean Safety Sales Manager.

In 1998, AquaSpec launched the AQ98, recognised as the smallest lifejacket light in the world, and set the standard for modern life jacket light design.

AquaSpec followed up with ground-breaking high-performance LED lifejacket lights under the AQ40 range. These lights offered more than 40 hours of continuous operation, 5 times longer than the 8-hour SOLAS minimum standard, as well as more than 2.5cd of illumination after 8 hours of continuous use, 3 times longer than the 0.75cd SLAS minimum standard.

This new range complements AquaSpec’s existing AQ40 lifejacket lights, also available from Ocean Safety.
