Maria set to hit British Virgin Islands

Already, almost every island and house in Maria’s path has been damaged by Hurricane Irma and the islands are strewn with wreckage that will get whipped up by the next storm and create even more damage.

Winds are expected to be way over 100mph, with torrential rain bringing more mudslides and more damage.

This hurricane was named as Wilma a few days ago. She already has history from 2005, when she skirted south of Jamaica and Cuba before travelling the Yukatan Channel and making a 90° right turn to smash into the tip of Florida.

Wilma is now Maria and is already a Category 5 hurricane that is projected to follow hurricane Irma and hit the British Virgin Islands, St Kitts and Nevis and Anguilla – all of which are still recovering from the battering they got from Irma.

Our thoughts are with them all…
