British Marine encourages French sailors to explore Devon

British Marine South West has launched Sail la Manche – an online resource designed to give French sailing visitors information on tourist attractions and facilities in Devon.

The idea is that Sail la Manche will help the region to be fully ‘explored and enjoyed’.

Part of what makes Sail la Manche unique is the 3D tours found on the website, says British Marine.

These tours provide practical information to boaters about slipways, visitor moorings, pump-out and other services, making it a straightforward way to plan a stay at three popular sailing locations in Devon.

On the website, visitors can also find detailed information on events and recommendations of places to discover. It highlights the various options that will entice French sailors to extend their stay in Devon, from regattas to seafood festivals and folk music.

Sail la Manche is looking to become an ambassador for the region, by bringing together the various marine sectors in Devon whilst also building strong links with tourist bodies, local attractions, and food and drink sectors.

Dorset is welcoming a new boat show at Portland Marina this summer, on the Jurassic coast near Weymouth. The first Boat Expo Live runs August 4-7 2022, against the backdrop of Osprey Quay and the waters of Portland Harbour and Weymouth Bay, an area popular for water sports such as kitesurfing and waterskiing.
