New boat show for UK south coast

A new boat show is to take place at Portland Marina this summer, on the UK’s southwest coast.

The first Boat Expo Live (https://www.boatexpolive.com/) runs August 4-7 2022, against the backdrop of Osprey Quay and the waters of Portland Harbour and Weymouth Bay, an area popular for water sports such as kitesurfing and waterskiing.

Organisers Eidikos say the show is aimed at leisure boating enthusiasts who have a passion for powerboats, cruising, or sailing, as well as those looking to buy a boat.

The event will be free to enter, with car parking available on site and good connections to local public transport, according to Eidikos.

“We are pleased to report that Boat Expo Live is a welcome addition to the events calendar, [already] receiving over 500 requests for tickets to visit the event,” says Eidikos director Nigel Borrell. “We are busy discussing exhibitor requirements for either berths or landside space.”

Organisers also plan to introduce a series of virtual events to run alongside the Boat Expo.

“With this announcement of Boat Expo Live, the digital marketing division of Eidikos has taken the decision to combine their ‘live and virtual events’. Virtual Boat Expo will now go live August 8,” says a spokesperson.

The Virtual Boat Expo (https://www.virtualboatexpo.com/) is a virtual marketing platform billed as an ‘immersive experience’. The virtual event will feature an interactive digital showcase of boats and yachts from renowned brands, professional brokers, marinas and dealers — all rendered in high definition using photo-realistic 3D models.

More information about Boat Expo Live and rates for exhibitors can be found in the show’s exhibition brochure.
