Burling wins Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards – Again!
Peter Burling has won the 2017 Rolex World Sailor of the Year award.
It’s been a year of successes for the Kiwi helmsman, who, as part of Emirates Team New Zealand, won the 35th America’s Cup in the summer.
The 26 year old is currently competing in the Volvo Ocean Race with Team Brunel and couldn’t attend the award ceremony, was was held in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
This is the second time Peter Burling won the prestigious accolade. In 2015 he won the ISAF Rolex World Male Sailor of the Year award with Emirates Team New Zealand crewmate Blair Tuke.
