Consilium wins recruitment contract for £33m maritime transport project

UK recruitment company Consilium Recruit has secured a deal to work on a project which aims to decarbonise maritime transport.

It’s been chosen by Belfast-based Artemis Technologies, which has been awarded £33m from the Strength in Places Fund to lead on the development of new zero emissions hydrofoil ferries and future maritime transport systems.

Artemis Technologies, which is led by double Olympic gold medallist yachtsman Iain Percy OBE, brings together maritime, aerospace and motorsport experts and is one of the world’s leading high performance maritime design and technology firms.

The contract will see Consilium, which is headquartered in Stratford-upon-Avon, lead on filling engineering, management and project leadership roles to support Artemis Technologies’ 10-year plan to make Belfast Harbour a world leading hub for green maritime technology, and one of the world’s most environmentally friendly regional ports.

The first roles to be recruited will include departmental heads within mechanical systems, naval architecture, project management and procurement.

“We are proud to be supporting Artemis Technologies in its long-term mission to decarbonise the maritime sector,” says James Colley, director at Consilium Recruit. “Despite the challenges that Covid-19 has brought, we will be recruiting a variety of first-class, talented professionals who can grasp the unbelievable vision of Iain and the Artemis team.”

“Our aim is to develop and provide sustainable transport solutions for the maritime industry and support its decarbonisation,” says Iain Percy. “If we are to succeed in that – we need only the best and most committed people in our growing team. Consilium has impressed us with their long and proven track record and will play a pivotal role in the recruitment process, supported by their extensive, multi-sector networks.”
