First models from World Cat’s new Greenville site hit the water
World Cat recently expanded its production capabilities with the addition of a 265,000-square foot building in Greenville, North Carolina. The first model to come off the line in the Greenville facility was the 400CC-X.
In addition to this model, the production facility is also currently building and producing the 400DC-X, with plans to produce another new model to be announced later this year.
Combined with its current production facility in Tarboro, NC, World Cat now has a total of 405,000-square feet of production space.
Headquartered in Tarboro, NC, World Cat manufactures outboard-powered centre and dual-console catamaran models ranging from 23ft to 40ft.
“This new Greenville, NC, location was ideal for producing our 40ft World Cat Custom flagship models, and further expanding our capabilities,” says World Cat president Andrew Brown. “With the continued growing demand for our catamarans, this move will allow us to effectively manage our customer and dealer expectations as well as provide support for new product development.”
Chosen for its population and proximity to the existing manufacturing facility, the Greenville facility will house 60 new employees, bringing World Cat’s total number of employees to 300. Some $2.5 million is being invested into this facility. World Cat says future plans for the Greenville site include a showroom and further introduction of new products.
