Last week, Carissa Moore won the 2019 World Surf League Title for the fourth time at the Iululemon Maui Pro, the final stop on the WSL Women’s Championship Tour. This epic victory for Carissa makes her Hawaii’s most-successful surfer ever on the world stage, surpassing Andy Irons’ three World Titles and John John Florence’s two titles, according to Carve Surfing Magazine.

“That was crazy, and I was trying to keep my focus and emotions in check,” says Carissa. “This is incredible! It’s been years of work and years of growing and learning. It’s been a journey and I’ve been really looking forward to this moment, but it hasn’t sunk in yet. So many of my family and friends are here and I’m so excited to share this with them.”

The 27-year-old’s success comes on the back of her provisional qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games where she will represent America, together with her team mate Caroline Marks, as surfing makes its Olympic debut in Tokyo next year.
