Management changes at Southsea Marina as up to 58 berth holders threaten mass exodus

Premier Marinas has announced that Rupert Bremer will be changing his role to Duty Manager at Southsea Marina at the start of the New Year. Berth holders will be delighted by this news. They were up in arms when they thought they were going to lose Rupert and were actively in discussions with another marina group about discounted rates for a bulk move.

“Rupert has worked at the marina for over 25 years, performing varying roles over the period of his employment. For this reason, and because of Rupert’s dedication to his customers and contribution to the management at the marina, both Rupert and Premier agree that this new challenge will benefit the marina,” says a Premier statement.

“We received a fairly cold email saying a new manager was taking over,” says Tony Pask, a berth holder for at least eight years.

“Southsea Marina is much more friendly than most places and that’s down to Rupert. The customer service is exceptional there, nothing has ever been too much trouble.

“It’s unusual for a customer to say we love our supplier so much, but in this case it’s true,” he says. And it really serves to underpin that relationships between customers and staff are far more powerful than customers and brands.

“I am delighted to continue my work with Premier at Southsea Marina and am looking forward to taking up my new role in the New Year,” says Rupert.

According to Tony there were “plenty of rumours flying around” speculating about rules and regulations for sleeping on boats on the hard standing – not allowed in Premier’s terms and conditions, or indeed, many other marina operators. But now the situation has been resolved for all parties, and berth holders are looking forward to a meeting on 14 December to cement the berth holder relationships that the last ten days have fostered.
