Nominations open for inaugural Honours superyacht award

Nominations are now open for the inaugural Honours, a new awards ceremony for the superyacht industry.

The Honours is organised by The Superyacht Life Foundation and the Monaco Yacht Show, with the ceremony to be held on 26 September 2023 in Monaco – the eve of the Monaco Yacht Show.

Organisers say nominations for the Honours can be for anyone within or connected to the superyacht industry, but organisers say nominees should be “inspirational people doing exceptional things that mirror the exceptional nature of the global industry.”

Examples of such exceptional things given include: preserving the environment, developing communities, driving conservation, inspiring exploration and cultural understanding, advancing design and technologies, contributing to diversity and inclusion, and instigating positive change across the industry and beyond. The nominees should have achieved something that has had a tangible link to the superyacht industry within the past five years.

Nominations are open until 31 March 2023.

“We are proud to be involved in the organisation of the Honours for 2023,” says Gaëlle Tallarida, the managing director of Monaco Yacht Show. “The Monaco Yacht Show will be committed to being a proactive protagonist to support the event. We believe the Honours will be a new milestone in superyachting’s history as this will be the very first award ceremony that distinguishes people behind the scenes of yachting.”

Dilan Saraç, executive director of the Superyacht Life Foundation, adds: “This is the perfect opportunity for the superyacht industry to recognise the very best of itself and to tell the positive stories of the nominees and Honourees to the wider world.

“By getting involved and nominating those people who reflect those values, it is a chance for all of us in the industry to play our part in changing the story of superyachting for a wider audience.”

Nominations will be considered by an independent judging panel comprising leaders from all sectors of the superyacht industry, with three Honourees being selected to receive their award at the Honours evening celebration in September.

Nominations are now open and can be made online (https://www.thehonours.org/nomination) until the end of March.
