Superyacht UK Technical Seminar moves to new London location

The 14th annual Superyacht UK Technical Seminar will take place on Tuesday, 25 March 2025, at the Union Jack Club in London.

The seminar will provide an opportunity to explore critical issues shaping the future of the sector, plus a range of presentations and networking sessions.

The Superyacht UK Technical Seminar will open with remarks from Ben Geary, chief operating officer at Döhle Yachts, chairperson of ISO Ships and Marine Technology Large Yachts, and chairman of Superyacht UK. A mix of technical updates and industry insights will follow, with confirmed sessions including:

  • Red Ensign Group (REG) Code Update: Experts from the Cayman Island Shipping Register will discuss the July 2024 revision of the Red Ensign Group Yacht Code, REG YC GI 2024/1 amendment 01, and anticipated developments from the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
  • Superyacht Statistics: The State of the Industry by Numbers: Gabrielle Lazaridis, business editor at Boat International, will present the latest data and trends impacting the superyacht industry.
  • Superyacht Cyber Security in the Age of AI: Jeff Ames, CTO at Computer Network Defence Ltd, will examine the role of AI in addressing cybersecurity threats specific to the superyacht sector.
  • Decarbonisation: Targeting ‘Net Zero’: Rachel Goult, managing director of Yacht Carbon Offset, will outline emissions measurement techniques, regulatory requirements, and strategies for achieving ‘net zero’ in superyacht operations.
  • Chase Zero: Hydrogen-Powered Innovation: Alasdair Reay, CEO of HPi Verification Services, will explore the technology behind ‘Chase Zero,’ a 13m hydrogen-powered America’s Cup chase boat, highlighting challenges and breakthroughs in sustainable performance.

The seminar will conclude with a keynote address from a yet-to-be-announced speaker, followed by a networking drinks reception.
