Top ten tips to improve your experience when using a Marine VHF radio
Icom UK has written ten top tips to improve practice when using a marine radio.
Included in the list is avoiding skill fade, checking antennae, and watching language/chatter.

“Maritime electronic equipment gets exposed to salt spray so certain parts can corrode,” says Ian. “They may get a little salt build up, so you want to make sure when you’re finished for the day you wash your radio off so next time it will be free of corrosion.” (A tiny dab of Vaseline on the charging terminals of any portable radio can keep corrosion at bay).
