Typhoon shelter provides 600 new berths in Hong Kong

Up to 600 new fore-and-aft mooring spaces are now available at the new Delta Marina in Hong Kong’s Hei Ling Chau typhoon shelter.

The new moorings give boaters in the region some much-needed new options for berths.

Hei Ling Chau typhoon shelter is located just off Lantau Island and the moorings will be available to leisure boats of all sizes, including wide-beam multihulls and superyachts.

Delta’s plan is to offer marina-grade services in the government-approved typhoon shelter. These services include on-site security, mooring inspection, first aid and fire prevention, berthing assistance, grey and black water pump out and typhoon preparation.

Founded by by long-time Hong Kong yacht industry veteran Bart Kimman, Delta Marina will also provide a limousine ferry service to connect boaters with Hong Kong’s major piers.

The Delta Express service will whisk owners and theirs guests to and from Aberdeen in just 15 minutes, or to Mui Wo in just three.
