US antenna firm secures biggest UK order to date

Shakespeare Marine antenna manufacturing

Marine antenna design specialist Shakespeare Marine has announced its largest single UK manufacturing order to date, totalling more than US$50,000.

The order includes over 1,000 427-N-KIT antennas – one of the South Carolina-based firm’s best-selling VHF antennas – and is due to go into production in May and be delivered in June 2023.

The 427-N-KIT antenna is said to be ideal for smaller power and work boats, particularly fishing and commercial boats. It features a low angle technique to increase signal range and reduce power wastage, and comes with a 4186 Nylon ratchet mount, making lowering the antenna quick and easy.

We’re delighted to report such a great order for one of our UK-manufactured antennas – it highlights the growth of the market and gives us confidence this will continue,” says Dave Manasseh, European sales manager for Shakespeare Marine. “The order is a testament to the fantastic work and craftsmanship of our Shakespeare team.”

In 2022, Shakespeare Marine brought the manufacturing of four of its VHF antennas back to the UK, including the 427-N-KIT antenna.

In April, MIN reported that Shakespeare Marine had appointed electronic service provider Rongtec as the firm’s exclusive Chinese distributor.
