Women in Marine events announced for Southampton Boat Show
British Marine will be hosting its Women in Marine (WIM) events at Southampton International Boat Show (SIBS), running 15-24 September 2023.
This year, organisers say there will be more events aimed at inspiring and encouraging future industry aspirations happening throughout the show. This will culminate with the traditional Women in Marine ‘drinks and nibbles’ networking event, which features a panel discussion from peers in the trade industry on 21 September 2023 from 4pm-6pm. Registration for the event will be available soon.
The dates and times of the other Women In Marine events are currently being confirmed, with details of the full programme of events to be released in the coming weeks.
The Women in Marine agenda at SIBS 2022 included an array of new presentations, including a mental health and wellbeing session.
“We are delighted to be supporting a variety of Women in Marine events at the Southampton International Boat Show 2023,” says Lesley Robinson, CEO of British Marine. “We hope that by regularly holding more events like this, we can all work together to ensure that the marine industry is more inclusive and diverse, ensuring that a person’s sex, age, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation or religion is not a barrier to working in the sector.”
